ARMS Medical's VNEW® Named MedTech Outlook's Pelvic Floor Surgery Technology of 2026
PR Newswire
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Oct. 1, 2026
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Oct. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- ARMS Medical today announced that VNEW®, its patented, mesh-free dermal allograft designed specifically for female pelvic floor reconstruction, has been named MedTech Outlook's Top Pelvic Floor Surgery Technology of 2026. VNEW was selected as the exclusive recipient following an evaluation by the publication's editorial board and an expert panel of industry leaders. ARMS Medical was also recognized among its Top Surgical Device and Instrument Companies.

Most surgical products begin with a material and ask where it can be used. VNEW began with a different question: What does female anatomy require?
The answer emerged over thousands of hours in operating rooms alongside urogynecologists, urologists and colorectal surgeons, and through listening to women living with pelvic floor disorders. That experience shaped a philosophy ARMS Medical continues to follow: Listening Reveals Why. Anatomy Reveals Where. Engineering Determines How.
"We did not start with an existing graft and try to make it fit women's anatomy," said Robert Greer, Founder and CEO of ARMS Medical. "We started with female anatomy, studied how surgeons reconstruct it and engineered the technology from there."
VNEW is available in four precut anatomical shapes designed for female pelvic floor reconstruction. Unlike grafts that may require the surgical team to hydrate, measure and cut tissue into the desired configuration, VNEW arrives hydrated and precut. The surgeon selects the configuration appropriate for the procedure and retains control over technique and placement, while several preparation steps have already been addressed before the graft enters the sterile field.
"Time is one of the most valuable resources in an operating room," Greer said. "If we can thoughtfully complete part of the preparation before the product reaches the surgeon's hands, we should."
VNEW combines anatomical design with dCELL® tissue-processing technology, a proprietary decellularization process designed to remove cellular material while preserving the structural characteristics of the dermal matrix. The process achieves a 99% reduction in donor DNA while preserving key elements of the native extracellular matrix, including collagen and vascular channel structure.
The tissue-processing technology was not created for pelvic floor surgery. The VNEW shapes were. Bringing the two together allowed ARMS Medical to approach pelvic floor reconstruction from both directions: the characteristics of the tissue and the anatomy in which surgeons use it.
To date, more than 200 surgeons have used VNEW technology in the care of more than 10,000 women. That experience continues to inform the company as surgeons contribute clinical insight and women contribute a perspective that cannot be learned in an operating room.
"This recognition is meaningful, but it is not the finish line," Greer said. "We are still listening to women and surgeons as we engineer what comes next. If we do that work well, perhaps we will be having this conversation again in 2027."
